Homann (Johann Baptist, heirs of); 'Imperii Persici.....', An 18thC map of the Persian Empire, modern day countries including Iran, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Kuwait, c.1720,  some contemporary hand colouring, plate mark approx. 490mm x 590mm, together with 'Carte de l'Asie Mineure ou de la Natolie' and 'ASIA Secundum legitimas Projectionis Stereographicae', two highly detailed mid-17thC maps of Asia, with contemporary hand colouring, and two maps by Christian Weigel, India and Asia, all unframed (5)
Provenance; The Alan Winning Collection of Antiquarian Maps, Books and Atlases. Beginning in the 1970’s with an interest in the 19th Century development of the railway network and the County Maps of this period that charted it, Alan expanded his academic interest into good early printed maps, town plans, travel guides, books and atlases and has been adding to his collection over the past 50 years.
